Mahmood Abad

Located at 52° 21' eastern longitude and 36° 25' northern latitude, Mahmood Abad city is the capital of Mahmood Abad county. It includes two districts of Central and Sorkh-Rood. The areas of Khesht-Sar, Ahlamrostaq and Dabooy are the archaeological sites of the city. Its seaside is one of the most important tourist areas of the province. The economy of this city is based on agriculture.

Engraving on Wood (Lak-Tarashi): Forming different types of wood in order to create embossed patterns on it and make pots and other objects out of it. It is among handicrafts of the people of Mazandaran which is known as Lak-Tarashi. This field of art received the international Genuine Seal from UNESCO in 2010.
