Jooybar

Limited northward by the Caspian Sea, southward by Qaemshahr, eastward by Sari and westward by Babolsar, Jooybar is one of the central cities of Mazandaran province.

The most important river flowing in this city is Babolroodwhose source is the northern Alborz mountain range and flows to the Caspian Sea. The economy of this area is based on agriculture.

Natural Attractions

There are about 47 ponds with more than 2,323 hectares of area in Jooybar which are one of the most important water reservoirs for rice cultivation as well as for fish culture of warm water. They have a reservoir capacity of about 73,960,000 m3. The most ponds of this area are located in the villages of Gel-Mahalleh, Larim, Enar-Marz, Zarrin-Kola, Mistan, Shahneh-Kola and Esmail-Kola.

Kord-Kola Tekieh

Located 28Km of northwest Kord-Kola village, it is a two-story-high brick construction with a pantiled roof, wooden pillars, a shah-neshin (a raised platform on which the king and his courtiers sit), tessellated sashed windows and a historic inscription. This building dates back to 1280 AH.

 

Brick Bridge of Azan (Pol-e Azan)

Located in the village of Azan, near Jooybar, it spans Siah-Rood River. Dating back to the Qajar period, it connects two villages of Haydar-Kola and Haji-Kola. This bridge has been registered as a national heritage.

Simorgh

The town of Simorgh is one of the cities in Mazandaran province which was called Kia-Kola in the past and in 2012 it was separated from Qaemshahr and changed name to Simorgh. Located 12Km of Qaemshahr, 10Km of Babol, 21Km of Babolsar, 13Km of Jooybar and 36Km away from Sari, it connects several cities of the province. Simorgh includes 2 districts of Central and Talarpei; each district includes two hamlets, Centraldistrict: hamlets of Kiakola and Dasht-Kenar and Talarpeidistrict: hamlets of Toor and Talarpei.

 

Historical Background of Kia-Kola City

The remaining signs of the Safavid Dynasty (Emamzadeh ‘Abbdollah Mausoleum in Feri-Kelamen Village) and even earlier than that the remaining hills from the first Millennium BC such as Tappeh Ekook and Aghooz-Din, as well as an old castle in one of the villages of Kia-Kola show that some people used to live in that area and it was an administrative center where tight military measures were in force like a formidable fort.

Ancient hill of Keti-Bala (Din Tappeh) is located in Dineh-Sar village. Dating back to the 1stmillennia BC, it is registered as a national heritage with number of 10275, in 2003. In addition, this hill is the burial place of well known peoples such as: Aboo Yaʻqoob Ebn-e Yoosef Ebn-e Hekam Ebn-e Yaʻqoob Tanbalaee, Sayyed Ebrahim Saqebi Najjar-Kolaee and Sayyed Hassan Beheshti Semna-Kolaee.

 

The religious places of Simorgh are: Mausoleums of Sayyedeh Abji ʻAmmeh (Seyd-Mahalleh village), Sayyedeh Khadijeh (Molla-Kola village), Sayyed ʻAbed (Shirkhar-Kola village), Emamzadeh Moosa Kazem (Mery village), Pir Tekieh (Borj-Kheil village), Pir Tekieh (Moosa-Kola village) and Emamzadeh Sayyed ʻAbbas (Solhdar-Kola village).
